Following a couple of teasers released for The Social
Network, the first official trailer is online with actual footage from the
upcoming film about Facebook.
About face!
After opening with a montage of Facebook elements -
profiles, status updates and comments - the trailer segues to a page image of
Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland) who portrays founder Mark Zuckerberg. In the
background a children's choir sings Radiohead's Creep.
The story unfolds, showing the site's start at Harvard in
2003 as a means of grabbing the attention of campus clubs and replicating the
social experience of college.
What follows are assorted complications with accusations of
stealing, betrayal and legal wrangling. The film also stars Andrew Garfield
(the new Spider-Man) portraying Facebook's co-founder Eduardo Saverin, and
Justin Timberlake as Napster co-founder Sean Parker.
David Fincher (The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button)
directed, and award-winning Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing) wrote the screenplay.
The Social Network opens the New York Film Festival in
September and releases in the states October 15. AFP Relaxnews
