| New Alter-Ego For Spider-Man |

Fans of the web swinging superhero will be pleased to know that a new actor will be squeezed into the famous red and blue spandex for a rebooted version of the film franchise which previously starred Tobey Maguire. Andrew Garfield, Variety reports, is the next Spider-Man.

For those of you who have no idea who Andrew is, the actor most recently starred in The Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus (but you’ll be forgiven for not noticing him since all the hype on the movie was centered around Heath Ledger). But landing the lead role in Spider-Man, for which Andrew aced the screen test, will certainly make the cutie pie famous.
According to Variety six actors were screen-tested for the part, and it came down to three – Andrew, Jamie Bell and Alden Ehrenreich, before a final decision was made. Of his big ‘win’ Andrew humbly told Variety, “All I've ever aimed for is just to be allowed to express myself. And that people seem to enjoy seeing me do my work is more than I could hope for. I don't take it lightly.”
