Modern Family star Sofia Vergara admits that she was terrified about her starring role in Machete Kills.
The 41-year-old Emmy nominee who will soon be seen as sexy assassin Madame Desdemona in director Robert Rodriguez's new film tells Total Film: "Of course I want to do different things but I liked the fact Robert [Rodriguez] shoots fast and when he asked me if I am willing to do all this, I said yes, but I was terrified on the inside.
"That's a role that is not like any other comedy or action character or assassin. I always wanted to work with him because I think it's a very new, different kind of way of doing movies and he's so involved."
Of the experience of doing her own stunts, Sofia says: "I had an amazing time. I was shooting, and jumping, and driving ... and looking crazy. I saw little parts of things and my face is fierce! Like when I'm screaming and killing someone, I'm really scary."
Especially when she wears Desdemona's bullet-firing bra.
"My outfit that you see on the poster is called 'casual violence'. Sexy but deadly. I'm shooting bullets out of my boobs. I wonder why Robert wanted me for that kind of character?" she laughs.
You may want to take this story with a tablespoon of salt but the Daily Star is reporting that Jennifer Lopez has walked out of a film because the the producers refused to only cast actresses that were less attractive than her.
The tabloid reports that Jenny quit the film The 33 due to being frustrated with the producers' casting choices.
The paper quotes a source as claiming: "J.Lo kept going through the hundreds of casting photos and whenever she spotted a female who looked too sexy she'd slash a big, black X across their face."
The 33, helmed by Mexican director Patricia Riggen and starring Antonio Banderas and Martin Sheenn, is based on the real-life 2010 Copiapó mining accident, which saw 33 Chilean miners trapped in a collapsed mine for more than two months.

It's official that Silent House actress, Elizabeth Olsen will be joining the cast of The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, which is the second installment of The Avengers, after Samuel L. Jackson confirmed the news.
Welcome to The Avengers
"I don't think we begin shooting before March of next year. I know we're shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen, but I don't know what she's doing, if she's on the inside or the outside. I haven't seen a script," Samuel, who plays Nick Fury in The Avengers, told The Wall Street Journal.
Rumours have been circulating that the younger sister of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen is in talks to play the Scarlet Witch, the daughter of Magneto and twin sister of Quicksilver, but only now her involvement is confirmed. There's still no word on what her role will be. And in case you're wondering, yes, Magneto from the X-Men series.
The sequel to The Avengers is slated for a 2015 release with other huge names such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner reprising their roles.

The duo made it official back in April when they attended the premiere of 42 together and now, after six months of dating, Naya Rivera and Big Sean are engaged!
Naya and Big Sean at this year's MTV Video Music Awards
Her rep has confirmed to E! News and she was even spotted with her new accessory at the Latina magazine's Hollywood Hot List Party in Los Angeles.
The beautiful couple, who recently collaborated on her debut single Sorry met on Twitter! "I had followed him and he sent me a little message like, ‘I’m a fan.’ I tweeted that I followed him, I was trying to get his attention. We went to dinner and the rest is history,” the Glee star told Access Hollywood last month.
During an interview with E! News, Big Sean couldn't stop gushing over Naya. "Every morning I wake up, I look over at her and be like, 'I'm winning so hard.', " said the 25-year-old rapper. Well, we can't blame him considering how hot his now fiancee is!
Don't say the word diet to Jennifer Lawrence 'cos she wouldn't like it. She's still sore about what she was once told as a younger actress.
Who you calling fat?
"I was young. It was the kind of s*** that actresses have to go through. Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn't lose a certain amount of weight," she revealed to Harper's Bazaar UK.
"They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivation for my diet. It was just that. [Someone brought it up recently] They thought that because of the way my career had gone, it wouldn't still hurt me. That somehow, after I won an Oscar, I'm above it all," she added.
"I was a little girl. I was hurt. It doesn't matter what accolades you get. I know it'll never happen to me again. If anybody even tries to whisper the word 'diet', I'm like, 'You can go f*** yourself.'"
Tom Clancy had a gift for telling espionage and military stories that were so authentic it surprised Pentagon officials.
Sadly, on 1 October, Mr. Clancy died in Baltimore at the age of 66 after suffering a brief illness.
The former insurance agent turned prolific writer has sold tens of millions of copies of his books, which included such recognisable titles as The Hunt For Red October, Patriot Games and Clear And Present Danger. His name has also been closely associated with the world of video gaming (think Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six).
Born Thomas Leo Clancy, Jr, the author who grew up in Baltimore knew he wanted to be a writer early on and completed a bachelor's degree in English at Loyola College.
He has said however that his success did not come easily and his advice to aspiring writers was:
"Learn to write the same way you learn to play golf. You do it, and keep doing it until you get it right. A lot of people think something mystical happens to you, that maybe the muse kisses you on the ear. But writing isn't divinely inspired - it's hard work."
He is survived by his wife, Alexandra Llewellyn, and five children - Alexis, Michelle, Christine, Thomas and Kathleen.
Chris Pine steps into the shoes of Jack Ryan
RIP, Mr. Clancy. It's a shame he will not bear witness to the latest incarnation of his most famous character, Jack Ryan (starring Chris Pine) on the silver screen, when Jack Ryan: Shadow One comes out in December.
She's happily married now and Avril Lavigne is thinking of having a kid.
But not so soon, she says.
May be growing up after all
"I do [feel pressure to start a family] now that I'm married," the singer-songwriter revealed in an interview on The Lowdown with Diana Madison.
What's holding her back then, you ask? "I want to be ready," she said. "I'm focusing on my music. I'm just releasing a new record. This is my priority and my baby right now."
Also, the 29-year-old celebrity is keen on spending quality time with her hubby, Chad Kroeger, whom she tied the knot with in July.
"We actually have spent the majority of our relationship, like all of our time together," she explained. "They went on the road for a little bit, and I was out with Nickelback on their tour, and then he travels with me, and now that we worked together on my record, we're together then."
It's nice to see Avril in such a happy place. Good for her!
Rihanna is trying her hand at new things and has a show called Styled To Rock, which is set for release at the end of the month on the Bravo Channel. According to E! the reality series Styled To Rock will feature Rihanna, Pharell and many other celebrity guests, and will give aspiring designers a chance to style an outfit for one or more musical acts each week.
Rocking out in style
The contestants are fighting for a US$100,000 cash prize, a fashion feature in Glamour magazine and the once-in-a-lifetime chance to become the next member of Rihanna's style team. It's like Project Runway, but with a bit more rock.
Confirming what everybody has long suspected, Michelle Rodriguez has finally admitted that she has batted for both teams. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly the Fast & Furious star says she is no stranger to speculation about her sexuality.
Well what do you know
Michelle said: "I've never walked the carpet with anyone, so they wonder. Plus, I play a butchy girl all the time, so they assume I'm a lesbo." When pressed further on that statement Michelle added, “They're not too far off. I've gone both ways. I do as I please. I am too curios to sit here and not try when I can. Men are intriguing. So are chicks.”
