Entertainment Weekly reports that Enrique Iglesias is close to signing on to be a judge on American Idol's 12th season.
There's talk that there will be four judges in the new season instead of the usual three. It's going to be a complete revamp with Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban also reportedly in negotiations to join the panel. Thus far, only Mariah Carey has been confirmed.
Will he bring his Latin flavour to American Idol?
And according to the same report, Adam Lambert could be asked to fill the spot if Enrique Iglesias passes on the opportunity to bring his Latin flavour to the table. In case you're wondering, both Keith and Enrique have been offered US$4 million a piece.
As previously reported, Randy Jackson has been moved from judging to a mentor capacity.
If this new line-up is confirmed, it will be quite a diverse panel, not unlike what The Voice has accomplished with their superstar coaches.
It's hard to say at the moment if Enrique is truly interested. His schedule appears to be free (he just finished his world tour) but he did turn down the hosting gig for The X Factor in the past and only got to the negotiating stage for The Voice.
