Yay, One Direction gets to keep their name! The British boyband -- which comprises of Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Niall Horan -- is able to continue on with the name One Direction after reaching an agreement with the US musical group who shares the same name.
From UK with love
It all started when the US band began receiving hate mails which were supposedly meant for the UK band. And when the former got tired of it, they asked Syco Entertainment and Sony Music not to promote the UK boyband as One Direction and also, the US boys want a share on the profits made by the UK lads.
However, when their requests were ignored, the US band decided to pursue legal action. Thankfully, everything is resolved now and we're glad that the UK band gets to keep the name One Direction while the US group will now be known as Uncharted Shores.
