Although we are still watching the audition rounds on American Idol, the show has started to tape the Hollwood rounds... which means Ellen DeGeneres has reported for duty.
And how was her first day? Word has it that the talk show host is not happy with Simon Cowell, calling him a prima donna (we're sure he has been called a lot worse)!
The 52-year-old Ellen turned up on set on time and was kept waiting because Simon only arrived 90 minutes later!
On her Deadline blog, Nikki Finke quoted a source saying, "Ellen's new to the gig and she's very organised and she made a commitment to take this on, and now she's asking herself, 'What did I get myself into?' She called Simon Cowell a 'prima donna.' So right from the start, the chemistry isn't great."
So, what kind of judge will Ellen be. She has said in an interview that she will be brutally honest, but in a kind way. Ellen does not subscribe to the way Simon does his judging. "I think he's mean and I think he says things in an insensitive way and I don't think that's the way to get a point across."
But it does make good TV! |
